About Vikraman Pillai

As a finance professional with 25 years of international trading experience, I have a deep understanding of Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange Markets. I have a proven track record in managing teams in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. From a strong grounding in FX Derivatives in London furthered by running Global Rates and Cross Currency portfolios to now building a nascent STIR platform in Asia. I have a keen grasp of the challenges and skills for managing key people and businesses across diverse cultures and jurisdictions. By the fortune of meeting great people along my career path which have all contributed to my development and am now equally adept in managing either high volume franchise trading books or the lifting required to bring start up business on-line via engagement with key stakeholders across the regions. As a trading principal, I am able to use different lenses; form views on short term liquidity in distressed conditions, model-based using quantitative analysis and macro views as the trading environment evolves. Operationally, deft in handling derivatives life cycles from inception of product and developing risk models in linear STIR products at BNY Asia to end cycle; migration of large inter-dealer swaps portfolios, IBOR transitions and trade compression in FX, Rates and Cross currency at Natwest Market. By engendering service and partnership based approach from trading and sales teams we have cultivated strong bonds with Global Asset Managers, Sovereign Funds and Custody clients. I have also represented BNY at ASIFMA FX/Rates round tables, presented on IBOR transition and am currently responsible for Trading and Treasury for BNY based in Singapore.
