Background
About Vikranta Barsay
I, currently study Bachelors in Law at National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. I have previously worked in an on-site manufacturing plant whilst at Reliance Industries Ltd, and then in a lab whilst at General Motors TCI; both of these experiences have exposed me to diverse aspects of engineering, be it front-end manufacturing or back-end architectural designing. I have done my graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the 2018 batch at the Vellore Institute of Technology. While pursuing my graduation, I tried to spread the span of attainable knowledge and experience as far as possible while maintaining a balance between engineering and non-engineering skills. I have interned at the Advanced Technical Institute, Mumbai during the summer of 2018 under three departments namely PLC, SCADA, and Machines. I was exposed to the automation tools of Rockwell and Siemens which when combined with the theoretical knowledge attained while studying Electrical Engineering ultimately led to my final year project. I designed a new method to create an AC drive on a layer of PLC using SIMULINK. I have also attained considerable expertise in the domain of Bio-Medical Engineering via two projects, one with an in-house VIT chapter and the other in collaboration with ICMR. Being a freelancing script-writer in college for a production house allowed me to sharpen my content writing skills while perfecting English as my second language.A project in mathematical modeling for decision analysis in a hospital queuing system done during my penultimate semester makes me capable of applying theoretical algorithms in real-life problem statements to achieve optimal efficiency. While at General Motors, I received formal training in the domains of Six Sigma and DFSS for automobile projects, allowing me to understand the intricacies of project design and goal fulfillment, giving me additional insights into the stages of project development and management.I wish to use my Engineering degree to advance into the field of Law because I feel that the technology ecosystem is in for its biggest revolution yet, and the nations need a legal backbone to prevent any malafide repercussions of the same.
