Connecting with someone new and sharing your innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences is incredibly brave. If this is your first time in therapy, opening yourself to the unknown takes courage, vulnerability, and dedication that I empathize with and value tremendously. The central lens I use in my work is person-centred therapy. Through it I create a safe, compassionate, and collaborative environment where we can work together to identify goals and roadblocks. It’s important to me that you feel understood and motivated towards change in our therapeutic relationship. I wholeheartedly believe in your resilience, intuition, and inner strength at each stage of growth. My goal is to genuinely connect with you and guide you towards making the shifts that best align with your authentic self. After we’ve established an understanding of the thoughts and feelings underlying certain behaviors, we can work together to challenge them, leading to growth and newfound possibilities. Through the joint development of coping tools and mindfulness practices, I hope to promote balance and agency in your life. In the past several years, I have experience working with a variety of populations including individuals with depression, PTSD, anxiety, psychotic disorders, trauma, traumatic brain injuries, and suicidal ideation. Through teachings in my education, professional work experience, and personal life, I have become acutely aware of the joys and challenges of self-exploration, vulnerability, and recognizing the influence of the past on the present.
