About Vimmy Singh

I am an alumna of the distinguished Jesus and Mary College, and a Post graduate gold medalist in English from Panjab University Chandigarh.I have over 30 years of experience in the education sector. I have handled portfolios like Admissions, Examination, Magazine Editor and Coordinator during my tenure as a teacher. I was selected for the prestigious Fulbright South Asian Teacher Training Programme at George Washington University. I also took a lead in the Follow-On workshops in collaboration with USEIF & USEFP for Pakistani Teachers at Lahore and Islamabad in 2007. I was appointed as the member of the Interview panel for Fulbright Program Selections and of review committee for CBSE National Awards. I have been consistently involved with teacher training as a Resource person for several training Programmes. I was the Master Trainer for Trinity College London and National Level PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) Workshops. I have been a Professional Content Writer for CBSE Publications on CLT (IX- XII), Support Material-XII, Content Writer for PISA Handbooks on Scientific Literacy, Reading Literacy,Trainer Manual, and various KVS manuals. I write in the genre of Poetry. I try to make the curriculum transaction experiences gratifying and stimulating by incorporating appropriate instructional strategies. I was conferred with the KVS Regional Incentive Award (2014) and KVS National Incentive Award (2015) for meritorious contribution in academics. I represented KVS at the National Conference on Emerging Issues on School Education and delivered an online National Level Presentation on Inclusive Education in 2020. I have been the Master of Ceremonies for several National Level Programmes. In 2014, I was the dais manager for the PM’s favourite programme -Interaction with School Children.I prepared the script and trained children for compering the programmes which were telecast on National level. I have developed modules to enhance LSRW Skills for students while I enrich and enhance my own knowledge and expertise through professional reading and attending workshops regularly. I have been conferred with the KVS Regional and National Incentive Awards.I am a recipient of Gold certificates from KVS for excellence in qualitative and quantitative results. I believe that I can afford to indulge in ‘pedagogical tinkering’ and be an ‘activist’ teacher wherein I can experiment, be part of academic conferences and indulge in reforms.There’s a lot more to learn, absorb and adapt to while I continue to grow as a teacher and a teacher trainer.
