I'm pleased to join the maintenance team at Fleet Services, with the City of Long Beach, California. Having completed 25 years as a Peace Officer with the Corrections Branch of British Columbia, Canada, I "retired" in 2010. In 8 different prisons, I worked for 19 of the 25 years as a supervisor and acting manager. I was responsible for supervising the line staff on shift, and as staff scheduler for some years. I finished my career with Corrections as a technical specialist in Classification, Case management and Risk Assessment. I certified as a tradesman (Instrument/Electrical technician) in the Canadian Air Force. I worked for several years in various aspects of avionics, electronics and telecommunications. Also worked for one year as structural Fire-fighter, and 8 years as a volunteer with BC Provincial Emergency Program (Search and Rescue). Having been in southern California now since 2012, I worked with the California State Parks and also with Lowe's Home Improvement (hardware store).
