About Vince Umbers

Growing up in regional NSW, I noticed the lack of education and open conversations around mental health. Those experiences shaped my passion for improving mental health literacy and access, especially for young people living in regional and remote areas. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the University of Sydney, I’ve worked across several organisations focused on bringing meaningful mental health education to communities throughout Australia, with the ultimate aim of preventing suicide. I’m now the Regional Program Manager at zero2hero, where I oversee the planning and delivery of youth mental health and wellbeing programs across regional WA. I’m also an experienced facilitator, delivering workshops and accredited training such as safeTALK to schools and community groups. I thrive on building genuine relationships, creating engaging learning experiences, and ensuring that mental health education is both culturally relevant and accessible — no matter where someone lives.
