About Vincent Kirsch

During my 20+ year career in IT and Java software development, I have always shown a thorough and dedicated way of working, driven by attention to detail and end-user satisfaction. This has been repeatedly acknowledged and recognized inside the companies I worked for, and allowed me to benefit from a very strong trust relationship with my employers. This in turn made me the natural candidate for internal promotion and recognition, allowing me to combine development with IT infrastructure engineering and move from senior developer to team leader and product manager when the situation called for it. After spending a lot of time in pure application development, I shifted towards architecture and DevOps management, while still doing some programming from time to time, even learning new languages along the way (such as Go) when required (when your Java micro-services aren't that micro.). Today I'm more interested in teams management, helping members grow technically and personally, dusting off old habits, and putting people back in charge of their work with pride; a blend of team, tech, and change management. This confidence also permitted me to work on a broad range of topics, often on brand new subjects, because my managers always knew they could rely on my motivation and willingness to constantly learn new subjects, and always saw me as a reliable resource not only for internal work, but also for customer relationship. Those customers in turn have requested on several occasions that I come back for each phase of the projects or for different ones. The main characteristics that enabled those strong trust relationship are thoroughness, honesty, transparency, respect for people and established customs, a widely open mind, and a capability to compromise between the best theoretical solution and the most realistic one for complex matters. This technical background, comprised of programming, analysis, infrastructure and software architecture is complemented by very good writing and oral communication skills in both French and English. My family, friends and hobbies - photography, guitar playing, long walks, whisky tasting - taught me patience, perseverance, and a philosophy of simply enjoying life and the beauty of the world one day at a time.
