About Vincent Simone

I didn’t care that A was for apple. I was the kid who learned the times tables before learning how to read. My thirst for mathematical information continues to this day by actively researching new methods for approaching problems and avoiding the assistance of an electronic device. It’s quite satisfying to find a solution with the calculator built-in between my ears. The usage of mathematics in everything has always intrigued me to pursue a better understanding of the universe's language. As I have grown as a mathematician, my brain continuously crunches numbers. It happens at every job, social function and daily outing. If I am able to convert at least one person towards tolerating or perhaps liking math, then I am a success for that day. I realize this sometimes feels like the old story of the boy throwing starfish back into the ocean that washed ashore- one at time- when the beach is covered with them. But to each one that makes it back into the water, it matters. Although life will always have problems, math shouldn’t be one of them.
