About Vinod Kumar Gopinath

Joined IBM in 1995 from campus and was a part of the organization for nearly 10 years. At IBM, I started off as a software engineer, developing products across Windows, Solaris, AIX and HP-UX operating systems. As a result of this exposure, I gained expertise in object oriented analysis, design and programming. In 2001, I became a project manager of the team involved in development, testing and maintanece of IBM middleware products in Pervasive Computing. In 2004, I moved to Chennai from Bangalore and and joined a start up called Novatium Solutions. Novatium’s vision of taking computing to the next billion users attracted me with the potential to experiment and work in a number of different areas. The social angle to this vision, the ability to provide information to remotest corners of the world, attracted me further. During my initial year at Novatium, I took care of the server side products at Novatium. Since late 2006, I have been the Chief Technology Officer of Novatium and have architected, designed and worked with a young team on the development of a set of products that make up the cloud based management solution for Novatium. Spear headed development in multiple areas – Android, Microsoft Windows, Linux, iOS, OS X, J2EE, etc. As a part of the role, I was responsible for IP creation and have applied for 19 patents in US, EU and India, which are in various stages of publication. As a part of the leadership team at Novatium, I am also involved in most strategic decisions in the company.In 2017 I moved to teaching at a school. I joined The School KFI at Chennai and taught physics for classes 8, 9, 10 and 11. I was also the class teacher for the students of class 8 for a few years. Besides teaching, I was also involved in the administrative and logistic operations at the school. I primarily focused in setting up and the running of the school bus service between 2018 and 2022. I also took care of the IT infrastructure at the school. During the lockdown due to the pandemic, I set up and managed the remote learning infrastructure using Google Classroom and Google Meet. I worked at the school till 2023.I started working in Digital verification from 2018. At first I joined, Edveon Technologies as a consultant. In 2023, I took up the role of Chief Technology Officer at Edveon Technologies. At Edveon, I gained expertise in developing at test plan and testbench architecture. I have also developed a number of test benches using System Verilog and UVM. Among other projects I have completed end to end verification of a NOC within a chip.
