About Vinod Tr

The key strengths that I possess are academic and research experience, systematic approach to find solutions, positive attitude in work, openness for teamwork and skills to motivate juniors and co-workers enabling them to bring out their best. With degrees of BSc and MSc in Forestry and a PhD in Wildlife Science, I have a full and fairly deep understanding of my subject area. In addition, I am trained in GIS and Remote Sensing; and management of endangered species. I have roughly eighteen years of research experience behind me in National and State level governmental and non-governmental organizations in India and overseas. I had attended numerous workshops and courses offered by National and International agencies in topics including Participatory Management of Forest Landscapes, Endangered species management, GIS and Remote sensing, Approaches to community participation, public relations and communications, environment impact assessment, planning and evaluation, joint mangrove management, Eco-development, Ecotourism, gender and development, decentralization and local economic development. My research interests in forestry, wildlife, landscape management and climate change have been fostered by several years of experience working in various states of India, viz, Himachal Pradesh in the North West; Uttarakhand in the North; Odisha, Tamil Nadu along the East coast and Kerala in the West coast but deep in the South.
