About Viola Antao

Dr. Viola Antao is an Academic Family Physician and Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. She practices comprehensive family medicine at Women's College Hospital. Her main area of focus is Faculty Development and Medical Education, specifically creating initiatives and programs to help family doctors in their clinical, teaching, scholarly and leadership roles while sustaining wellness. She is a current member of the CFPC's National Orientation in Leadership in Family Medicine (NOLFME) scientific planning committee, DFCM mentorship lead, and assistant editor of the Teaching Moment section - Canadian Family Physician Journal. She was previously a member of the Working Group on Faculty Development ( 2012-2018) and director of Faculty Development DFCM (2016-2021). Dr. Antao is dedicated to cultivating and nurturing lifelong learning and mentorship. Her resolute vision extends toward a future characterized by accessible Faculty Development that family doctors and health professional educators can apply to their clinical, teaching and leadership roles with outcomes that matter. She recently completed training and certification toward the Continuing Professional Development ( Health Care ) certificate.
