About Violet Winters

As a Paralegal at Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, I manage a caseload of complex immigration cases, ensuring 100% deadline compliance for filings with USCIS and juvenile courts. I conduct trauma-informed interviews with immigrant youth, including with minors from LGBTQ2IA+ and indigenous populations, securing critical details for immigration claims while minimizing re-traumatization. I also deliver Know Your Rights presentations in Spanish to unaccompanied minors in ORR shelters, improving legal literacy and case preparedness. I have a B.A. in Mexican-American Studies from the University of Arizona, which has equipped me with a deep understanding of the cultural and historical context of immigration issues. I am passionate about advocating for the rights and dignity of immigrant and refugee communities. I have experience in family law, immigration law, and tribal law, having worked as a Paralegal at Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. I am proficient in using Kemp’s Case Works case management system and have facilitated international service of process under the Hague Convention. I am also skilled in transcribing EOIR hearings for asylum cases with high accuracy.
