About Vipul Garg

A military leader and Naval Artificer with 20 years of extensive hands on experience in handling technical equipments, manpower, material management, administration and leading diverse cross functional teams in multiple roles including project management and operations. Vast experience of handling high pressure and challenging situations at sea with limited resources and manpower. Strong communication skills with proficiency at grasping new technical concepts quickly. Among others, my major duties included the following: a) Leading cross functional teams tasked to carry out defect rectification and preventive maintenance on various deck machineries, hydraulic systems and various other systems during ship's operational cycle. b) Played important role during refit and repairs of ships by scheduling project and monitoring progress over budgeted time and expense. c) overseeing quality control and refit progress during repairs including procurement of spares and equipments. In recognition of my services, I was awarded the Chief of Naval Staff commendation twice in 2013 and 2017 for professional excellence and high integrity. Also, selected for foreign deputation to Seychelles in 2015 under MOU of ministry of external affairs, GOI namely International Trade and Economic Co-operation (ITEC) to impart training on technical and management skills to the personnel of Seychelles Coast Guard. In 2017, again selected for foreign deputation to Glasgow, Scotland and trained for highly reputed project of Indian Navy, World most advanced Submarine rescue project worth rs 1900 crores and over the period of three years our team of 35 people made India proud of becoming 11th nation in the world which operates Submarine rescue system. Such high recognition to my services is a testimony of high integrity and trustworthiness towards my organisation. I am a dedicated, responsible and a professional with meritorious record and distinguished service in Indian Navy. I am a battle hardened soldier and had the opportunity to serve on various frontline warships and esteemed projects of Indian Navy. Navy has helped me to evolve as a person who has the keenness to observe people, processes and situations to carry forward my team in challenging situations. I have motivated individuals and teams to re-define threshold of their potential.
