About Virginia Varrientos

As the Director of Nursing at Ascension, I oversee the clinical operations and quality of care for a large and diverse patient population. I have more than 21 years of experience in nursing, including six years as a Nursing Manager and 10 months as a Program Coordinator for the Bariatric Surgery Center. I have a Master's degree in Nursing Administration from Walden University, and I am passionate about advancing the field of nursing through education, research, and innovation. My core competencies include patient safety, acute care, program coordination, nursing management, staff development, and budgeting. I work collaboratively with other leaders, physicians, and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care. I also contribute to the mission and vision of Ascension, which is to provide holistic and personalized health care to all people, especially those who are poor and vulnerable. I am motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of the patients, families, and communities we serve.
