Vishaal is an educator and curriculum developer with a passion for systems transformation and empowering future leaders. A graduate of New York University Shanghai, where he majored in Political Economy, Vishaal holds dual degrees conferred by NYU and the Chinese Ministry of Education. He is currently studying Future Studies at Stellenbosch Business School where he hopes to explore forward-thinking methodologies and develop strategies that can shape the future of learning. With a unique international background spanning five countries—China, Italy, Sweden, South Africa, and Wales—he brings a wealth of cultural awareness and adaptability to his work. Vishaal is proficient in Afrikaans & Mandarin, and conversant in Italian, skills that enrich his ability to connect with diverse communities. Vishaal is deeply committed to education and innovation, particularly through his work in developing the curriculum for STP: Leadership for Just Futures, a transdisciplinary program that equips students with the tools to navigate and transform complex systems. He teaches topics like complex adaptive systems, food systems, global politics, and economics, blending practical insights with a focus on fostering critical thinking and systems-based solutions. Drawing inspiration from Deepa Iyer's Social Change Ecosystem framework, Vishaal sees himself as both a weaver—connecting ideas, people, and systems—and a guide, helping learners and educators alike navigate challenges and discover their potential. He is committed to creating transformative educational experiences that empower individuals to engage meaningfully with the world and drive sustainable change.
