Demographer and global development MLE professional with 22 years of experience in strategic planning and program implementation, development of policy and advocacy strategies and activities, strengthening of community development approaches, and designing and facilitation of capacity building and training programs for both government and NGOs. Have worked with partners across government, UN agencies, bilateral donors, and international development support agencies and other civil society actors including academia on gender and woman's related issues viz. Women's health, Maternal & Child Nutrition, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Girls education, Domestic violence. Have expertise in program management, M&E donor funded programs on Maternal & Child Health and Nutrition, Gender issues including women’s health & education, domestic violence; Strategic Communication including ICT, Rural Development, Education, & Climate Change domains in India, Tanzania & other South Asian & East African countries. A demographer/Bio-Statistician with a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Population Studies from IIPS, Mumbai, India (2002). Have also completed advance certificate courses in Bio-Statistics from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health; and “Advance Specialization in Data Sciences” from JHSPH. Served as an expert committee member (constituted by Statistics Division, MoHFW) for family planning ELA estimations for India and States, Have authored several journal articles, book chapters and scientific reports; and serves as reviewer of several international journals.
