About Vishnu Harikumar

As an aspiring power electronics engineer with a strong foundation in electronics and power systems, I have gained hands-on experience in various roles focused on power electronics, inverters, and E-machines. My journey, enriched with both academic and practical exposure, has allowed me to excel in developing and testing sophisticated electrical systems.I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Power Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, while conducting my thesis work at NXP Semiconductors. My thesis focuses on the "Design of a Digital Twin Model for SiC B6 Traction Inverter with Fault Injection and Age Analysis." This project involves modeling an inverter with consideration for non-linearities and parasitics, with a primary emphasis on the age analysis of MOSFETs. The model is initially built in LTSpice and later translated into Simulink for hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) simulations. I have also integrated provisions for EMI analysis using a LISN model, which provides insights into system-level noise behavior.My work experience includes roles at Bosch Engineering GmbH and Munich Quantum Instruments (MQI), where I have gained a comprehensive understanding of power electronic systems. At MQI, I worked on the development of superconducting photon detectors, focusing on control board design and testing. I’ve also been involved in inverter testing, automation using TPT, and the development of models for E-machines and inverters to optimize system efficiency. These experiences, coupled with my technical skills in MATLAB, Simulink, Python, and LTSpice, have honed my ability to solve complex engineering challenges.
