About Vito Genna

Hi, I’m Vito Genna — a computational chemist and scientific leader who’s spent the last decade immersed in the world of nucleic acids, molecular modelling, and therapeutic discovery. I currently lead the Nucleic Acids Department at Nostrum Biodiscovery, a team I had the chance to build from scratch and grow into a powerhouse of innovation. My work bridges deep science and real-world application. From designing multiscale simulation pipelines to developing XNAhub — the first simulation platform for natural and synthetic nucleic acids — I’ve focused on building tools that actually make a difference. Today, that platform is licensed and actively used across the U.S. and Europe. Over the years, I’ve led more than 30 collaborations with top pharma and biotech companies, helped secure over $2.5M in funding, and co-founded two international research consortia. What drives me isn’t just the science (though I love the science) — it’s the chance to mentor, to build things that last, and to work alongside brilliant people solving complex problems together.
