Water is the basis element of all existing things, the principle from which everything is generated and the principle is which everything is dissolved.'- Thales (625 - 546 BC) Vivek Kumar is an ardent researcher and an emerging greenpreneur. He is specialized in water research, focusing on water quality, identifying the origin of various pollutants/compounds in water systems, transport and transformation of pollutants in water systems using stable isotopes combined with REEs, biomarkers and hydrochemical parameters. He defended his Master's thesis on 'Study on Lukha River with emphasis on coloration phenomena during winter months'. He worked on explaining the turquoise to sky-blue coloration of Lukha River flowing in Meghalaya (India). Currently, he is researching on the origin, transport and environmental fate of sulphur in selected water bodies in North-east India, using stable isotopes combined with REEs, biomarkers and hydrochemical parameters. Kumar is also specialized in designing cost-effective instruments for monitoring various environmental parameter with high precision. One of his instruments which record CO2, CO, O2 and NO2 in ambient air earned a lot of appreciation form renowned researchers at 83rd Annual Meeting of Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS). Kumar has always worked for serving nature and living beings through his various initiatives. He is Co-founder and Director of Saindur Enviro, a leading environmental products and services company in India.
