My career has been defined by bridging high-level policy with industrial execution, delivering projects with a direct economic impact in the hundreds of billions of CZK. Key Strategic Milestones & Economic Contributions: Industrial & Infrastructure Transformation (1992–1997) Automotive Strategy: As Chairman of the Parliamentary Economic Committee, I personally negotiated the localization of a new engine plant in Mladá Boleslav with VW CEO Ferdinand Piëch (1993), ensuring the technological sovereignty and long-term prosperity of Škoda Auto. National Infrastructure: Architected the national strategy for the D5, D7, D8, and D52 highway corridors. As Minister of Transport, I oversaw the Czech Republic’s entry into Eurocontrol and led Czech Airlines (ČSA) to a record profit of CZK 112M in 1997 through fleet modernization (Boeing/ATR). Market Architecture & Strategic Management (1998–2006) Energy Market Design: Defined the information architecture and financing model for the Market Operator (OTE). Today, this system settles energy trades and financial flows worth hundreds of billions of CZK annually. Corporate Growth: Implemented the regional diversification strategy at Metrostav (paving the way for its current CZK 50bn+ annual turnover). International Expansion: As HR Strategy Director at PPF Group, I designed the human capital frameworks for Home Credit’s massive expansion into China. Energy Security & Global Diplomacy (2008–Present) Resource Security: Managed the strategic correction of mining limits at the Bílina Mine (2015), unlocking over 100 million tons of coal reserves (valued at CZK 100–150bn) to safeguard the Czech heating sector. Global Leadership: Currently serving as Senior Vice President of EURACOAL in Brussels and Vice-Chairman of the Expert Group on Cleaner Electricity Systems at the United Nations (UNECE) in Geneva. I am a vocal advocate for Energy Sovereignty and an economically sustainable transition to a low-emission future. Through my leadership at the "Konec uhlí – Nová energie" association, I continue to moderate the expert debate on the realistic timing and economic impacts of energy transformation.
