About Vladimir Kovalev

Experienced software engineer with proven 7+ years of experience. I use C (C99) and C++(C++11/C++14/C++17) in my everyday work, but also have a good knowledge of JS, Python, Java and C#. And also I have an intermediate knowledge of many other programming languages (starting from Go and ending with assembly for x86/x86_64 PCs). Most of the time I'm writing cross-platform code, but have many specific code written for Windows or Linux only (including device drivers and kernel modules). I'm also using Linux (it's Ubuntu now, but I've started with opensuse and tried almost all well-known distros, like slackware, arch, fedora, mandriva/mandrake, debian, etc) as my primary OS and have a stronge knowledge of related tools (shells, like bash, or my favorite zsh and other useful command-line tools). I have a solid experience in many modern and widely-used technologies. It's far too big to list it here, but just a few for a reference: VCS (git, hg, svn, perforce, TFS), bug-trackers (like track, jira), NodeJS (nodejs, npm, bower, grunt), CI (like jenkins, teamcity). I like Qt and sometimes using it for my pet projects. However I'm still using MFC for tiny Windows tools. Have experience in using electron for desktop applications. During my working history I was working in different areas writing user-level software tools, system level software (network services and servers (like NTP or SNTP)), embedded tools (like custom networking code for some ebedded devices) and many more.
