About Wade Bourgeois

I have been with the Alexandria Police Department since 2007. I worked as a patrol officer for 4 years and as a detective for 5 years before being assigned to the Public Information Office in 2016. Since then, I have been tasked with crafting messages and statements on behalf of the department, as well as being the primary contact for the news media. Along with being the PIO, I am also the Intelligence Officer for the department. This job requires extensive research into the daily calls-for-service and investigations, as well as data analysis of those investigations to benefit the predictive policing model sought by the department. I have had training from the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA) in Media and Public Relations, and from the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA) in Foundations of Intelligence Analysis Training (FIAT). In 2011, I attended the FBI Instructor Development Course, and have taught courses in report writing and other subjects in the Alexandria Regional Police Academy since then. In 2015, I received the 'Lawman of the Year' Award presented by the Kiwanis Club in Alexandria.
