About Wade Hess

Curiosity, adaptability, creativity, and passion are the values that most reflect me as an individual. They are the qualities that have allowed me to successfully navigate a diverse range of internship, volunteer, and job opportunities as well as to complete a Biology degree at Southern Utah University. Most recently, I was employed as a laboratory analyst where I adapted to meticulous, detail-oriented work. As a Park Ranger, I used creativity to construct and present a variety of thematic programs, tours, and guided hikes to peoples of all ages and backgrounds. While exploring my passion for writing as a reporter, I composed two to five newspaper articles a week and used my skill later as a congressional intern by writing letters, memos, and even a speech given by Congressman Chris Stewart on the House floor. In 2013, I worked as a Youth Mentor for 40 hours a week while interning at a veterinary clinic for 20 hours a week. This allowed me to investigate my curiosity for all aspects of health while greatly improving my ability to communicate, learn quickly, and make others feel comfortable. My passion can be contagious; I once organized and executed an event on campus where we helped over 300 students register to vote. Outside of the workplace, I live an equally creative and curious life, devoting time to hiking and traveling, learning for the sake of learning, and creating art. Currently, I am seeking employment opportunities that will allow me to use my diverse skill set to improve human and environmental health. Specific fields of interest include conservation, community education and outreach, laboratory research, and environmental health.
