About Waheedath Murarsheed

I am a leader who finds freedom in a life of service. I am ambitious and driven by excellence. I’ve attended Richard J. Daley College, and Southern Illinois University of Carbondale where I received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Eager to live a meaningful and purposeful life, I began a career in Mental Health that led me to a life of advocacy and service to families and individuals in Community Integrated Living Arranged homes (CILA). Currently, as Vice President of Disability Services at the Anixter Center, a non-for-profit organization focused on serving people with disabilities and behavioral health needs, I lead a team of directors who oversee day program, employment, and residential programs. I utilize professional knowledge and leadership abilities to establish positive relationships, fostering teamwork, and setting standards for a workplace that everyone can enjoy while serving the needs of others. I am an Agent of Change, an Organizer, a Strategic Thinker, and a Problem Solver. I welcome constructive criticism, and I enjoy learning new skills. I am often trusted with high-demand responsibilities because I am capable of executing positive results and taking things to the next level. I have a strong faith which aids in my development of self-discipline, skills and talents. My mission is to live a life of wholeness, purpose, and service. My ultimate goal is to change the lives of others through my journey.
