About Walid Alkarmo

As an Electrolyte Team Leader at SOLiTHOR, I lead the research and development of solid electrolyte materials for safe, fast-charging, and high-energy-density solid-state lithium batteries for the world's electromobility markets. I have a Ph.D. in Nanostructured Composites and over six years of experience in materials science and energy storage. My core competencies include polymer and nanocomposite synthesis and characterization, Sol–gel processes coating techniques, surface modification, battery assembly, cell testing, and electrochemical characterization. I am passionate about creating innovative solutions for the global energy transition and contributing to the advancement of renewable and sustainable energy technologies. I have developed new electrolyte concepts based on polymer and polymer composite with high performance for battery technology. I have also improved the performance of cathode materials by applying advanced in situ and operando techniques, such as Raman spectroscopy, to understand the mechanisms and interactions of electrolyte and cathode materials. I have collaborated with leading academic and industrial partners, such as CNRS, SAFT, and TotalEnergies, and published multiple peer-reviewed papers and patents. I believe that success is achieved through strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration, and I always strive to support and empower my colleagues and peers in their projects and goals.
