About Walid Amiri

A strong-minded individual, with a self-commitment to consistently produce a high standard of work along with achieving personal goals, I am determined to grow in my career and pursue a path of consistent progression and success. My educational background begins with my undergraduate study of Economics, where I was provided with a compelling understanding of economic theory, a robust interpretation of economic principles, and a foundational grasp of the financial market. Throughout this course, I developed a particular interest to the financial sector and tried to select the modules which were heavy in financial and banking content. My master's degree has given me comprehensive training in finance, allowing me to develop an in-depth and specialized comprehension of the financial market and the products within it, thus equipping me with the skills I'll need to be successful in my career. I had to demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter with strong initiatives and attention in order to successfully complete the master’s with a distinction grade.Some of my strengths consist of strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organisation, statistics and mathematics, proficient in quantitative methods with a good capacity to interpret quantitative and qualitative data, working under pressure, quick learner, confident in use of excel features (functions, formulae, pivot tables, macros etc), decision making skills. I've also further developed my knowledge of trading markets, specifically energy and commodity products e.g. oil, gas, power, metals.
