About Wally Layes

Was involved with the union DC 37 Local 1549 as Delegate and a Shop Steward from and serve on the Board as recording secretary from 2009-2012. I learn so much being involved in DC 37 but most of all learn my contract inside out. Which has made me the strong woman I am and ready to tackle anything that comes my way. Even thought I'm not as involved with the union, I can honestly say I'm still able to help my co-workers with their issues and directed where and what to do. I love doing research on the internet about Union Issues and FMLA(family medical leave). Also heavily involved in Williamsburg with Tenants Association in the Edge Community Apartments. My goal also is to help other affordable apartments that are having problems with their landlords in Williamsburg section set up tenants association so their right as tenants won't be violated. I’m also involved with Grand Campus HS as a mentor, I’m involved with NBPD, I’m an elected official office of the County Committee. I’m running as a delegate for the District 50.
