Experienced Systems Engineer with broad engineering-based background in integration and test of large hardware/software systems. Very familiar with the complete systems life cycle of requirements allocation, specification, implementation, test and operations. Comfortable dealing with all levels of people, from corporate officers on the job to incarcerated felons in volunteer work on substance abuse prevention. Active in Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers local activities. Served as chair of the National Capital Area Consultants Network and increased membership by twenty per cent after presenting a series of marketing and sales programs for consultants. Won three service awards. Currently volunteer on newsletter team and continuing education and membership development committees. As a consultant, my focus has been in three areas: Systems Engineering, acting as liaison between sales or marketing and engineering. I act as the interpreter, ensuring that customer requirements are correctly passed to engineering, working with the proposal team to produce the work breakdown structure for planning and pricing, winning the contract, and transitioning it to program management. Integration and Test Engineering, working with engineering to lay out the testing to assure the contractual requirements are met and verified. Technical communication, particularly in proposal generation, but also those writing and presenting tasks that engineering tends to avoid.
