About Walter Matta

Graduated in course and with honours in Electrical Engineering at the University of Cagliari in 1994, has been obtained the Professional Engineering Certificate in the same year. After brief experiences at CNR and University of Cagliari, he joined Vitrociset S.p.A. covering roles of increasing responsibility: Technical Leader, Project Manager, Program Manager, Head of International Organizations Area, Scientific Director of S3log, Director of the Corporate R&D Center, Director of Strategy, Innovation and Government Funding and member of the Steering Committee. Currently is Senior Manager of Technology and Innovation in Electronics Division of Leonardo SpA. Since 2017, he is a Extraordinary Professor of Information Technology (INF/01) at Link Campus University. He holds and/or has held various national and international positions: Member of the boards of EOS - European Organization for Security) and ECSO - European Cyber Security Organization, Co-chair of the SFT group - Critical Soft Target and Critical Infrastructure Protection, member of International Advisory Council of Istituto Strategico Italiano Niccolò Macchiavelli, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Aerospace District of Sardinia and member of various technical-scientific committees. He is an independent expert of MIUR, MISE and EDA. He is coordinator and scientific supervisor of many international research projects, as well as author of several articles and publications.
