About Walter Modise

My strength and passion is on HV systems. I worked for more than 10years as HV Substation Maintenance Technician before I became a HV Transmission Engineer. I have been involved also in working with live line teams. Part of my duties as Transmission Engineer was to reveiw substation designs and attending factory acceptance tests for substation equipment eg HV Circuit Breakers and powerTransformers. I later moved to service sales at ABB where I mainly focused on providing clients with advice on maintenance requirements for HV systems. I now work as Manager System Operations and Electricity Trading with my main focus bieng to ensure that Botswana Power Corporation network is operated in the most effective and efficient way. Part of my mandate is Electricity Trading where I assess demand vs supply of the Country's power requirements and secure adequete power imports to meet the country's electricity demand. I also attend various SAPP forums where regional electrical energy issues are discussed. I am member of the Operations Sub Committee at SAPP.
