I provide creative and practical solutions to employer's labour and employment problems. Some of my representative work: Responsible for the preparation and conduct of numerous labour arbitrations and hearings before single arbitrators and arbitration panels; including- Grievance arbitrationcases involving discharge and discipline for innocent absenteeism, duty duty to accomadate, work performance, failure to comply with settlement terms and conditions, failure to report to work, insubordination, insolence, imporoper use of internet, job postings, denial of overtime and other disputes involving the interpretation of collective agreements. Responsible for conduct matters before administrative bodies including- Applications before the Alberta Labour Relations Board including applications for certification, revocation applications, duty of fair representation complaints, unfair labour practice complaints, common employer and successorship applications, and cease and desist applications - Applications to the Courts for injunctions reliefs - Issues arising under the Employment Standards Code, the Worker's Compensation Act, the Occupation Health and Safety Act and provincial and federal employment legislation - Applications for judicial review - Mediation of disputes and agreements - Responsible for advising clients of rights and obligations arising from provincial and federal labour registration - Responsible for the conduct of numerous litigation files including preparation for and attendence at chambers, discoveries, conduct of trials, preparation of factums and involvement in appeals before the Alberta Court of Appeal, consultation with clients, and negotiations with opposing counsel Sought after speaker at local National and International conferences
