About Walter Taplin

I have 25 years of experience in the IT industry focused primarily on the delivery of software development projects and services utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies. I am also a certified Project Management Professional PMP®. I have worked with large enterprise clients including global banks, telecommunication and energy providers, as well as government agencies and small private start-up initiatives. I’ve spent many years working for employers that follow CMMI and ISO certification standards. As a result I have considerable experience communicating and administering process and best practices. Throughout my career I have played the role of Developer, Designer, Tester, Requirements Analyst, Team Leader and Manager. As a Senior Consultant I have gained considerable customer facing and relationship management experience. I have strong facilitation and presentation abilities. As a Project Lead and Team Manager delivering quality products to clients I’ve been involved extensively with continuous improvement of system process and end results through the application of Quality Assurance and Quality Control methods. I have an energetic, outgoing personality and thrive in a social work environment. I believe mindset is as important as skill set. I have overseen teams of various sizes and I’m talented at getting members of varied backgrounds, disciplines and personalities working together to achieve a common goal.
