About Wanda Austin

Wanda began her career in the financial services industry in October 1980 with Wheat First Securities. After 7 years in various administrative and management positions she pursued her own client relationships as a Vice President-Investment Officer in 1987. In 1992, Wanda combined her talents with Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor, John E. Decher to form the Austin Decher Group at Morgan Stanley. After several mergers and acquisitions Wanda and John left Wheat First Union to join Legg Mason Wood Walker in April 1998. Also in 1998 they were joined by their daughter, Christina Austin. Christina is a partner in the Austin Decher Group at Morgan Stanley and current title is, Senior Vice President - Senior Portfolio Management Director, Financial Advisor. The team also includes Kayla Garner, Client Service Associate and Catherine Springer, Financial Advisor Associate. A native of the Hampton Roads area, Wanda is an active member of her community, dedicating her time and efforts to several philanthropic organizations including the March of Dimes, Special Olympics, Peninsula SPCA, Hampton Roads American Red Cross, Salvation Army and the Peninsula Food Bank.
