About Wanda Daniel

I learned early in life that cooking for and catering to the needs of others was my path. I enjoy serving and putting a smile on the faces of those around me. I have professional experience working with people from all walks of life. In May 2012, I proudly walked across the stage and received an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from Kirkwood Community College. Giving back to the community is very important to me. I began building positive community relationships via volunteerism with Americorps and United Way organizations in 2010. June 24, 2011, I humbly accepted the Iowa Governor's Volunteer Award from Governor Branstad. I then obtained employment and internship at Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County amoung other local businesses where I prepared 1,500 meals weekly, completed ServSafe Certification, and attended numerous workshops on menu planning, portion control, food production, record keeping,* CACFP meals, government guidlines and much more. I continue to read books and articles, ask questions, research and build relationships with local farmers, vendors and business such as The Linn Street Cafe in Iowa City. I am exited for what is in store for me as I continue to move forward towards my dream.
