About Waqas Haque

I am a second year medical oncology fellow at University of Chicago, where I am working on a number of projects at the intersection of oncology, value-based care, and artificial intelligence. I hope to further my work in innovative clinical trial design and health systems innovation. To this end, I have also developed my skills in statistical programming (R and STATA), clinical research methods, and public speaking (with 8 years of debate through high school and college). I have also worked with companies including Regeneron, OneOncology, Sarepta Therapeutics, and Primum on various digital health and physician engagement initiatives. Prior to UChicago, I completed Internal Medicine residency at NYU in a Clinical Investigator Track. When I'm not in the Windy City, I hang around Texas (Dallas), Manhattan, or the Bay Area. Always interested in discussing common interests, drug development, physician leadership, and ideas for making this world a better place for all. Outside the hospital, you'll find me exploring new Yemeni coffeehouses, reviewing ancient texts on ethics and psychology, and organizing for various healthcare initiatives.
