About Wasif Hameed

Passionate and motivated back end developer with a keen interest in machine learning. I completed a post-graduate program specializing in Big Data and worked as a Machine Learning Intern where my chief responsibilities included data analysis using Python and Cassandra, fine-tuning ML models, and developing RESTful APIs. Further, in my position with Thales I worked on 4LM project(London Tube) where I designed and developed solutions to automate the verification system for guideway design reducing development time, effort and increasing efficiency. In my last position as a software developer with Platform Data team at Mercatus I focused on Data Ingestion and Search capabilities for Mercatus’s SaaS offering that provides a complete solution to grocery retailers. I was part of a team that streamlined data ingestion workflows that processes approximately 4 - 7 million rows to ingest the data to SQL and Solr indexes for multiple retailers. My key contribution was to create a pipeline to index Solr collections using with Python, Spark with a performance improvement of 1.5x measured for all clients using the product.
