Someone once said, “Every small problem contains a bigger one, trying to get out.” For me, this idea is positively axiomatic! Although I am mindful of what goes *right* in IT matters, the awareness of what can go *wrong* has given me something of an edge in my career. I am an analytical person and a trouble-shooter foremost. I have the tendency to see, sense and deduce with ease. This has enabled me to fix what others may deem unfixable. If I don't have the right tools for the job, I will make them. Work requiring detail and focus, reasoning and lateral thinking appeals to me, arguably a tangible asset for an organisation’s ICT team. This has enabled me to earn the trust of colleagues and clients. I am articulate, eloquent, and a proficient communicator, able to fluently explain any technical matter – be it problem or solution – ever mindful of the listener’s level of understanding. I’ve found that I quite often fall into the role of the ‘go-to guy’ in any team or collaboration. Probably because I follow through, and perhaps because I take the time to think carefully about what has been spoken or written. If I do not know something, then I will not pretend to know. Staying true to the autodidactic process I will persevere to acquire – to assimilate – the necessary knowledge to get things done.
