About Wayne Arner

I am a Licensed clinical mental health therapist with over 27 years of experience in the field while working with children, adolescents, parents, and families. Over this time I have worked extensively in the non-profit sector and have worked closely with various state and local professionals and agencies in providing and expanding clinical, behavioral, and home-based services within the State of Utah. During this time I have become an expert on implementing and applying evidence-based practices. My passion for working with adolescents has led me to become a leader in the treatment of adolescents who have engaged in sexual misconduct or sexually abusive behavior and have taken an active role in helping to lead the Utah Network on Juveniles Obtaining Sexually to help define, train, and promote evidence-based best practice standards throughout Utah. Additionally, my passion for working within a family systems approach has led to me leading a program which has now expanded from serving 100 families a year to well over 400 annually as well as becoming one of the highest scoring evidence-based treatment programs within Utah and in over the top 7% of programs nationally. Most recently I have led Families First to be added to the FFPSA Clearinghouse as a Well-Supported evidence-based program for both Parent Training and Mental Health categories. Outside of my work life, I am passionate about the outdoors and love camping, hiking, backpacking, and generally spending time in nature. I particularly enjoy traveling to and exploring national parks along with other unique occurences within nature and our environment.
