About Wayne Berry

I’ve spent the past few years working with Go, Kubernetes, Java, Kotlin, Node.js and the Google Cloud Platform alongside an amazing team at Over. I have worked on porting Node.js services to Go, visual search, serveless computing, prototype and production headless rendering infrastructure and for the past year my focus has been on building out our cross-platform infrastructure. Previously I worked at smaller companies where I would often see an entire product from start to finish in a few months. At Next we used Laravel, a PHP framework, to bootstrap projects as fast as possible, and often scaled them up to of concurrent users. I also did some Ruby consulting with GetSmarter before their acquisition. I grew accustomed to Linux and distributed computing at Black Ginger, a Visual Effects studio, where we used Houdini to build complex shaders, particle effects and physical simulations and render them on an in-house render farm. I have been passionate about open-source from a very young age, it opened the world of computing up to me and I strive to do the same for others. Be it mentoring, working on open-source projects in my spare time or just convincing people it’s worth their time.
