Simply put I am a writer. If you take a more complex look, I've learned quite a bit in my 20 years of experience in creative, technical and journalism writing. How about a brief timeline?** to 2005: Taught English, focusing on literature and creative writing to high school students.** 2006 to 2020: Have freelanced for marketing firms, creating engaging web content and social copy.** 2014 to present: Have worked for Turner Sports as the Division II beat writer, traveling the country to find the best stories to tell and continue to freelance today. What started as simple article writing has turned into an entire microsite dedicated to NCAA DII sports, a weekly newsletter and The DII Nation Podcast.** 2020 to 2021: Changed careers and took on Customer Communications during a global pandemic. So, yes, I have writing experience of every sort. I've also learned a lot about analytics (especially Google, Chartbeat and Parse.ly), various CMS platforms (like WordPress and Druple), some HTML coding and Photoshop skills, and how to do the backend of web pages. I also like long walks from the dugout to the clubhouse of Minor League Baseball, learning the seemingly always interesting tales of DII superstars and teaching my daughter the advantages of scouting and sabermetrics.
