About Wayne Dennison

With over 15 years of combined experience in IT and OT (Automation) technologies, I am a passionate and innovative leader who strives to deliver excellence and value to the business and the patients. As the Director of Business Technology Services (BTS) at AbbVie, I oversee the IT strategy, execution, and performance of the biologics manufacturing region across six sites in the US, Europe, and Asia. I leverage my expertise in IT technology and applications, mechatronics and automation engineering to create and maintain the manufacturing site and regional business capabilities roadmap, and to drive strategic business process improvement opportunities across all sites. In my previous role as the Associate Director of Global BTS Systems at AbbVie, I was the global system product owner for several enterprise software platforms, such as IBM Maximo, Aveva PI, and Integrify RAPID. I was responsible for the system lifecycle, vendor relationships, product planning, department operating model, and staff. I also contributed to the development and justification of business cases, intake, and continuous shift of strategic direction. Leveraging my core technical skills in control systems engineering (PLC, SCADA, DCS, Instrumentation) and leadership skills through management of both IT and OT at multiple levels within AbbVie has set me up for success in my current and future career.
