About Wayne Fernandes

Mr. Fernandes started his professional engineering career with Enbridge, working on a Smart Meter Deployment initiative. He has held various design and construction management positions within the gas, water and electric utility industries prior to joining Tristar, a division of Aecon, in 2024. With over 20 years of sustained experience in the utility industry, Mr. Fernandes now leads strategic leadership, corporate governance and key stakeholder relationships as Vice President, Electrical Services, comprising of the high voltage power services, distribution design and electrical and civil construction. In this role, he has P&L responsibility for all construction activities of medium and high voltage projects including related Metrolinx Transit, utility capital & maintenance work and ensures that construction meets or exceeds standards and time frames within budget constraints. He also provides technical expertise regarding feasibility of proposed projects and monitors quality of work on current projects.
