About Wayne Finlay

Technology is my passion. Throughout my career I have written software solutions that span both the Apple and Microsoft ecosystems. As a Senior Software Engineer at Apple I’ve developed and enhanced skills and processes like continuous integration for both building and validating products, authored frameworks and libraries to support of our Wireless Technology QA Automation Teams working on iOS and OS X, designed and implemented a distributed, scalable automation system and investigated numerous technology bugs. One of my key roles is to identify and architect future projects that provide significant Return On Investment to the software development life-cycle. While at Microsoft my role was to create software test solutions for product features as varied as the OCR Engine in Microsoft Office's Document Imaging product to the UI based Microsoft Origami Experience to a USB HID Sensor Simulator for the Windows 8 Sensor Platform. I've worked on writing software that tested high profile features that shipped in Microsoft Office, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. I also gain invaluable experience working on software products that faced significant issues. All of this experience has let me build a skill set that emphasizes software development best practices, testing strategies, techniques, analysis, process and dicipline that has impact on what your customer experiences. From the first stage of product defintion to the coding cycles and all the way to the final sign-off, I am able to provide impact and return on investment.
