Wayne G. Sharpe, CFP Wayne brings over 40 years of financial services experience to West Branch Capital LLC. Under Wayne’s stewardship, First Trade Union Bank, a $275 million De Novo stock institution, survived the real estate based banking crises of the 90’s. It was one of only five new banks that survived the crisis. He was the President and CEO of the bank and implemented a multi-year strategic plan that resulted in 50% annual growth in profitability from 1992-1995, and return of equity of 110% of peer group while operating at 66% of peer group full time equivalent employees. Before assuming the leadership role at First Trade, Wayne was the Vice Chairman for Cambridge Savings Bank, where he was also a Member and Trustee on the Board of Investments. He headed a team which worked out over 100 problem properties, received through an acquisition of troubled bank, restricting losses to less than 15% of book value. Wayne has 27 years of experience in real estate lending experience and deep workout expertise. He ties his unique banking and real estate background into his 15 years of experience in asset allocation and security selection for financial assets. This combination of skill sets enables him to evaluate and structure portfolios which have real estate in the mix—residential, investment property or commercial. He was a Captain, Artillery, in the US Army National Guard. Wayne is a CFP and holds an MBA (Finance with Distinction) from Babson College. He graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Savings Banking, Brown University. He was also a Senior Adjunct Instructor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he taught courses in Condominium Development and Real Estate Finance. He earned his BS (Finance) with the Highest Honors at Northeastern University.
