About Wayne Luman

Software engineer with extensive background in software design, integration of both hardware and software design in the area of embedded and automated software design Throughout my career I have worked on many embedded systems: First was with the 8051 microcontroller for use in high speed conveyor and label printer applications. Second, embedded platform that I developed on was with the Motorola series processors in a RTOS for an end-of-line Roll Brake test station for the automotive industry. Third, was using the Freescale development systems running a Linux and/or WindRiver OS to support PowerPC and Xilinx applications for the aerospace industry. During each of the development efforts, I supported and maintained the development laboratories and the continuous build and integration systems. The second part of my career has been with automated test equipment. I started with test equipment in the aerospace industry; missile fin actuators, aircraft throttle systems, and powered rollers. Then moved to take on the challenge of working with an embedded system which was part of a VME chassis to control the test bed and communicate with the vehicle under test. This system could communicate with the vehicles: ABS, transmission, and other electronic modules. The next phase of my test software career was with the Test Systems team at GE Aviation where I was responsible for developing software for ATE for production and End-of-Line Acceptance testing and Qualification testing. Scheduled and conducted tests per MIL and SAE specifications for quality assurance testing. I have become skilled in software development in Windows, and Linux operating environments within the Aerospace, Automotive, and Material Handling industries. The languages and environments that I have worked with include: NI-LabWindows/CVI, MS Visual Studio, Eclipse, Android Studio, Java, C/C++, Visual Basic, Perl, Python, Linux scripting.
