Shihan Wayne MacDonald has a life-defining goal of creating a better world by empowering others with the values and skills he has earned and acquired from a lifetime of martial arts. Wayne MacDonald is an 8th Dan Black Belt and World Chief Instructor of Karate Budokan International (KBI). Wayne is a former multiple State, National and 3 time World champion athlete and a leading martial arts School owner, Instructor and international accredited coach in Sports Karate. Wayne commenced Karate training at the age of 11 and started teaching children’s classes from the age of 16. Passionate about the Sport aspect of Karate at 18, Wayne was the youngest member of the Australian Senior Karate team in 1986, at the World Championship. Wayne went on to represent his country 15 times over the next 17 years. Wayne and his wife Donna Sutor established the Karate Budokan World headquarters in Noosa Heads, Australia in 1996. Under their guidance this Dojo has taught over students the art of Karate! 20 years experience of running a fulltime Martial arts academy has made Wayne a leading consultant in the business of martial arts, guiding Sensei’s and school owners to achieve their personal best in all aspects of running and growing a martial arts schools. Wayne presents to academic schools and dojos his Child Safety, bully awareness and prevention programs, educating children of what bullying behavior is and how to prevent it and if necessary how to protect yourself and others from danger, abductors and the bully. Wayne is a dynamic & inspiring instructor, skills that were developed over decades of time on the training floor with students of all ages and abilities. The title of Shihan that Wayne is honored to hold has a simple meaning: “Teacher of Teachers” Wayne regards his instructor training and instructor colleges as some of his greatest services; the ability to engage students completely and instill the belief that they can achieve their dreams is an art in itself.
