About Wayne Pepper

I believe that individuals have unique capabilities to learn and should be provided every opportunity to develop to their greatest potential. Students should also be provided a safe and healthy environment in which they feel free to be creative and innovative while developing into responsible citizens in today’s multicultural society. I believe that students should be accepted where they are academically and encouraged to grow to their fullest potential. This can be accomplished through demonstration of mutual respect, high expectations, providing a risk-taking environment, personalized learning experiences, and long-term commitment on my part as an educator. Through collaboration of students, staff, parents, and community members, we can work toward turning educational challenges into educational opportunities. As I see it, the main purpose of an education is to provide students with experiences so they can be responsible, productive citizens. Education is also the basis for developing marketable skills. The latter is the vocational and practical aspect of education. It is necessary to be able to be employed in order to make a living, but education is so much more than learning a vocation. It is being able to relate to others regardless of their race, gender, or creed. It is being able to have positive self-esteem, which is developed by maximizing student potential. As we can see, the purposes of an education are many, and we are constantly being educated throughout our lives. Formal and informal education opportunities are boundless and make us into true lifelong learners.
