About Wayne Weaire

I am an experienced Board Chair, Non-Executive Director, and Clinical Family Therapist with a career spanning over three decades across the health, community, not-for-profit, and agricultural sectors. I bring a rare blend of clinical insight, strategic leadership, and board-level governance, shaped by my work as a former health CEO, pastoral leader, and primary producer. My professional journey has centred on improving individual, family, and community outcomes—whether through family therapy, organisational leadership, or philanthropy. I have led regional health services, founded clinical practices, and chaired diverse boards, driving meaningful, measurable change. My executive background includes roles as CEO of public and private hospitals, community health services, and aged care organisations. As a clinician, I remain actively engaged in therapeutic practice and supervision, providing family reports for the FCFCOA and delivering systemic interventions. Governance is a cornerstone of my work. I currently serve as Chair of The Ballarat Foundation, a Director of United Way Australia and Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (past Deputy Chair),and have held leadership roles in over a dozen other organisations. I’m a Clinical Member of AAFT, a member of Pacifica Congress, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. As a lifelong learner and collaborative leader, I combine strategic vision with grounded values—shaped by decades of work in rural and regional Australia. I’m equally at home in the boardroom, therapy room, and on the land as a primary producer, committed to sustainability and community resilience.
