About Wayne Wilson

I began my career in 1970 at Schott Bros, a leather coat manufacturer in NJ. I worked my way up through every department learning about every phase of manufacturing, eventually managing every department. I attended FIT at night taking pattern making courses. In 1982, I opened my own apparel contract shop manufacturing leather outerwear for Cooper Sportswear, Jordash, Excel Leather, Leather Warehouse and Averex Ltd. Closed my contract shop in early 1984 and went to Costa Rica to manage a large apparel manufacturer making product for Jones of NY, John Meyers, GAP and Bon Jour. In 1985, I returned to the States and joined an apparel recruiting firm where I started my recruiting career. In 1989, I was hired under contract by the GAP to recruit for all their field and corporate positions relating to manufacturing. I completed my two year contract in one year. In 1990 Wilson & Associates Inc. was started and we specialized in apparel, home furnishing, textiles and footwear. We were successful in building the business up to 11 recruiters. While I was building Wilson & Associates I started another company in 1995 called Source-i. Source-i is a sourcing company that took domestic programs offshore and placed these programs in Central, South America and Pakistan, which was a natural for me with my manufacturing knowledge. I still have the sourcing business today and have focused on domestic programs Made in America. Due to the economic downturn and 9/11 in 2001, Wilson & Associate closed its doors and I downsized and started a new company, Wilson,Correll,Friedlander & Associates and struggled through the hard times. In 2007, we began a new chapter and developed a new company, International Apparel Search. with a new focus on a new business plan. Our goal is to be the premiere executive search firm.
