Background

About Weiji Wang

I am a Master's Candidate in Computer Science at Leiden University, where I focus on mathematical modeling and data analysis. I have a strong background and interest in transportation and logistics, as evidenced by my previous Master's degree in Transport and Logistics from DTU and my exchange experience at KAIST. My goal is to pursue a career in data science and optimization, and contribute to solving real-world problems in this domain. As a Thesis Intern at TNO, I apply my data science and optimization skills to complex multi-country transportation and warehousing flows. I frame and build predictive models using big data and various financial and reporting systems, such as Power BI and BW Hana. I also develop analytical tools in Python to improve how Coty forecasts financial outcomes. In parallel, I work as a Student Assistant at Leiden University, where I support master students in courses such as Introduction to Deep Learning and Multicriteria Optimization and Decision Analysis. I evaluate and correct their assignments and code in Python, and provide feedback and guidance. I enjoy collaborating with and learning from others, and I am always eager to expand my knowledge and skills.
